SpinBionic is the first biotech spin-off company originating from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, established in 2023.
The founders are three scientists (from left): prof. Jakub Rybka, Ph.D. Adam Mieloch, and Ph.D. Eng. Filip Porzucek
SpinBionic aims to commercialize the results of research conducted as part of scientific activities and offer specialized services in the fields of in vitro research, tissue engineering, 3D bioprinting, protein production, and broadly understood medical biotechnology and molecular biology.
The idea of establishing a company appeared already in 2020, during work on an innovative COVID-19 immunodiagnostic test, which was developed at the Applied Biotechnology Laboratory of the Center for Advanced Technologies of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan and successfully used in practice.
“We share the belief that the meaning of our scientific work lies in translating research results into commercial solutions.”
The special purpose vehicle of the University – AMU Innovation helped to make these ideas a reality, being also a minority shareholder of SpinBionic.
